The views of our colleagues at Pa.Co. Stampi: Luciano Congiu.
Luciano was the first person to be taken on in 1997 as an apprentice and started out working on pantographs. “Next year I’ll be celebrating thirty years at Paco,” he says, “and I’m proud to have helped create a working environment that I consider a real gem and which works very well for both our staff and our customers.”
When asked about the merger plans, he gave us the following reply: “After thirty years at a company where I’ve grown and where I’m very happy, you’d expect me to have some reservations… but instead I’m positive; I’m more than happy. I think it’s a great project that will help us all grow; not going along with it would have been absurd: it’s foolish to say no to development. Giuliano is offering all of us a great opportunity for growth and the motivation to work with younger people. After all, the oldest among us is only 44. The idea of joining forces with another fifteen workers who come from a different background worries me a little, but I think it could be a great challenge. We’ll all be able to learn from one another because we already know each other; we’ve had plenty of interaction over the years. Working together, however, will be a different matter. Whilst it’s right to constantly discuss and exchange experiences and opinions, it’s also right that those in charge are clearly identified and roles are clearly defined. That, in fact, is my greatest fear: that this merger will end up creating a big muddle where roles, responsibilities and areas of expertise are unclear.”
